Still need a creepy story to read?  Here is a list of 12 American short stories to read for Halloween.  Get your flashlights!  This list is fine, but there is nothing by Edgar Allan Poe – how can you have a list without him?  I would add “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” and “The Raven” (which is actually a poem).
