John Green’s book Looking for Alaska is on the top ten most challenged books of 2015 list just released by the American Library Association. That means this book is one of the books people have asked most to get out of schools and libraries. Why? Some people think it has offensive language, that it is sexually explicit, and it is unsuited for age group. But that is just the opinion of some groups of people. Nevermind that the book may have some lessons or messages that could be learned, if someone actually read the whole thing. Or that teens need books with which to relate. I will save the rest of my rant for Banned Books Week, which is September 25-October 1.
Here is a video of John Green’s response to his book being the number 1 most challenged book of 2015.
