November is NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write a novel of 50,000 words in one month. Have you started yet? Me neither. I like to write, but novels would not be my choice; I would rather write short stories. I feel like I have more control over short stories; I can never think how a longer piece would go, and I just end up dragging it out and making it something it was not meant to be.
I admire all those who can write the novels and be good at it! I love to read the good ones and revel in the language and the story and the characters.
If you are attempting to write a novel this month, kudos to you! Work hard! Write every day! Get that story on paper (or computer)! Here are a few sites with some tips to help you along: first, the NaNoWriMo site. A list of tips to survive the month. And 10 tips for writing. Of course, we have many resources available in the library as well, so come by to check out a book!
Happy Writing!
