I hope you will all take a break during our time off for Thanksgiving to be grateful for all the wonderful in your life. I have a lot to be thankful for, and I try to remember that every day, not just this time of year. But Thanksgiving and the holiday season just seem to make me think of it more. I have a job I love, a wonderful husband and son, great friends, enough food to be healthy, and a warm house to sleep in every night.
And, I will have some time to read during this holiday break! I am always grateful for that.
A couple of books on my list for the break: I will finish Replica by Lauren Oliver and Three Sisters, Three Queens by Philippa Gregory. SUCH different books – the first about cloning, the second about Katherine of Aragon and Henry VIII’s sisters Mary and Margaret. I also want to read The Motion of Puppets by Keith Donohue and A Sudden Light by Garth Stein. We’ll see how far I make it, since my son and husband will both be home the whole break with me… 🙂
Here is an interesting infographic from Electric Lit about how we read, like the actual physical act of reading, how our eyes act and what happens when we see the words on the page.
Be grateful for your right to read, and take a little time for yourself this holiday.
Happy Reading!
